i was just wondering if its possible to put a 450r swing arm on a 400ex

i believe you can as long as you take everything from the r to put it in the ex. I have read this at least. steve

IT works just a little snug up in the pivot area. I had 450 brakes, axle etc im not sure if you could use 400ex brakes and axle on the 450r swinger...

you can. my g/f is set up with stock breaks and axle.
