I'm not sure what I'm running, but I need less low end because it's scary:scary: I have a 540 stroker.. do you think the 14-37 would be good for mine?

right now I have a 13-38
but I was recently told after my engine builder watched a few of my laps we are switching to 13-37
most ltr's run very well with a 13-37 and built motor, not talkin cams and programmer, I'm sayin full built motocross motor stage 3 or greater

atveric you sure mike said 14-37

he just told me 13-37keeps it in the rpm range he was lookin for....14 is probably ok at budds or somthing, try the 13 front once, I think you will like it

yea he told me 14-37. mike did my head with the +1 valves and all that. billet 3rd gears and the carb kit. kick-starter. idk never tried anything different. on my practice bike i had a 13-38 and it was luggish so i put 14-37 on it as well and its alot better. never treid a 13-37

yeah with the 38 mine was too hi as well, as I was in between jumps it would bog alittle and need to shift down, 13-37 makes it scream a little but really works well:devil: 14 didnt have much for acc.out of a coner. I was in 1st and2nd every place, now its higher like 2nd-3rd

feels like it could pull forever....I really like not to run outta power on straight strips doesn't feel that way now. but you should deffinetly do it on the practice bike first cuz its a lil defferent, shifting

yea ill prolly try it. practice bike has different motor but i should be able to get the difference out of changing the sprockets and feeling it out.

Does it really matter what you have done to your motor when gearing it, will different gearing work with different type of motor work, lets just say like a national mx motor with 55+hp respond to a 13-37 sprocket set the same way a stock motor with just a pipe and air filter would respond to it, or is gearing just gearing and will respond the same no matter what the motor has done to it.because i have a stock ltr motor and thinking of trying a 13 front

more power= the longer your gears can be. with a stock motor an ltr would have no chance in pulling a 15 tooth front sprocket to limiter, but a full out drag LTR could do it easily most likely. so in short terms, yes the motor has a big effect on how your gearing should be. as does tire size.

What would be a good gearing for my 07' with Full System Yoshi, PCIII, FuelATV Intake, and Hotcams? I'm running 14/37 right now.
