We finally got my sons quad back, and he rode it for the first time last night for about an hour, and it has a hard time staying running at idle, I tried setting the idle higher by turning the idle screw in and I get no change. It's a Apex50 with the 19mm Keihin PWK carb. It barely idles and when he whacks the throttle it dies unless he feathers it up til you hear the exhaust note start to crack and then when he hits it it goes good. Pilot Jet ??

Have you checkt to see if there is any play in your trottle cable, this should be one of your checkpoints before every ride or race.

yea there is free play in the cable, I actually tried adjusting that at the throttle lever so it would idle higher, but it didnt work, so I put it the way it was.

It sounds like the pilot. Take it out and clean it

I took it apart last night and cleaned it. There is a 42 pilot in there now, I could swear that Apex had told me it should be a 48?
