2+3 is gunna b wider then stock i had those on my 450r it makes steering a little harder and theres more bump steer but it is more stable in a strait line

if it is wider than stock then that would mean that it should handle better. Anytime you go wider than stock it always improves handling

Not with offset wheels it doesn't. You're going to get alot more feedback through the bars with those wheels, and the steering will feel very "twitchy".

The more wheel you have away from the spindle, you will have more bumpstee.r This is why more people go with 4x1 offset in racing applications. Instead of 2x3 or even stock 3x2.

It's really doesn't effect bumpsteer. Bumpsteer has to do with the position of the pivot point of the arms, relative to the position of tierod ends on the stem (which isn't changed by wider offset wheels). What the offset wheels do is add more leverage to the spindle when you hit rocks or other obstructions. It's like adding a cheater bar to your spindle. More leverage on spindle = more leverage on the bars = easier for bars to be ripped from hands.

Either way, you don't want 2+3 wheels.

Please listen to Scro guys... he hit the nail on the head.

4:1 offers best handling, but it is also the most narrow.

Good handling doesn't always mean going wider.

yea i thought of running 4+1 but i think 3+2 gives better protection to the valve stem ..

Don't let that get in the way of better handling:p They make shorter valve stems that don't stick out at all.

i like the 4+1 because id like to be as narrow as i can (east coast is all about weaving around trees)but if you have the june/july 2009 issue of quad magazine the quad on the cover seems to have 4+1 rims and the valve stem looks like its too exposed for my drives threw njs feilds of sticks(made from over flowing rivers) but maybe im over reacting.... ,,,,hey 400exrider707 i have a 97 warrior (aka the tractor)tall bars tall seat 23s on stock front wheels and 25s on 10 inch 3+5 fliped to 5+3 does that flip still kill kittens??:D :D

I used race the midsouth series with long valve stems on 4+1 wheels. It's one of the tightest series in the country, and I never had a problem out of them. And, if there's a tree out there, you better believe I'm gonna hit it!
