Yes the Joe Byrd comes with the can on the head pipe like this :)

As far as HP gains, I'd imaginge 3-5 depending on jetting and what other mods for a full system.

I thought I had heard that that can is to quiet the sound someone what, but I am not 100% sure about that.

But the Dasa is acctually too big of a pipe for a stock motor but for built ones, it is GREAT

if you are going to build the motor later than go ahead and get the pipe. The joe byrd edition has been tested to loose a half of a point of HP but thats nothing. Its under 98db so thats a good trade off.

If you put that pipe on a stock motor you will be fine. Its not like it will hurt you, you just might not feel the same gains as you would from a pipe that is just meant to be matched with a filter and cam.

btw: that header appears to be ceramic coated...looks sexy!

What would be a good pipe for just a filter and a cam?

The idea is under low RPMS exhaust gets trapped in the can and deadens out. Under higher RPMs exhaust just flows past the hole and is not affected. You can actually here the exhaust pinging in the can at idle.
