Ok, so I have a question. I've read the stickies on jetting, but I still have a question/would like a reccomendation on jetting for my bike. I have a 00 400ex with a Hotcams stage 1 cam, Sparks timing advance key, Pro Circuit full exhaust, K&N filer with pre filer and no lid on the airbox. I ride mainly at sea level (Coos Bay dunes), but I live in Souther Oregon and the elevation here is 4300ft. I'd just like a general starting point reccomendation on jetting my bike. Any help is greatly appreciated!

whats up... i ride at florence sandlake and winchester... basically what i've found that works best for my 400ex AT sea level is a 170 dynajet main jet... equivalent to a kiehin 190. and a 42 pilot jet... stock needle stock clip position. air fuel screw turned out 2 1/2. the mods on my bike are fmf slip on. sparks timing key, k and n with NO airbox. and i removed the choke plate in the carb. works great. i'd start somewhere around there

jetsrus.com exllent site, and get the jets you want, with money to spare. you may want to try a 42 pilot, remove the choke for a tad more air and try a 165 or 170 main, you should be good to go, remember, fine tuning wiht the fuel screw is your friend!
