These should be your subs for sure, they fit in small places and BANG, plus there jl audio so you know there the best.

In a truck this is a great combo the slim mount woofer will save you lots of space.

I have 2 10" jl w0 in my truck but i would rather have these but they were not out when i was buying my system.

Quiznos chicken carbonara or Subways chicken teriyaki are pretty good. But really I beileve JL was rated the best subs. Your pretty much guaranteed a good speaker with Kicker too. IMO stay away from Sony. For a ford ranger you could put 1 10" sub and it will pound. You have such a small space you dont need a lot of power because it doesnt have to travel through back seats from being in the trunk its going to be right behind you.

I prefer a Quiznos Turkey Ranch & Swiss, myself.

i have a ranger and had a couple different combos of subs in it. i have a regular cab so theres not much room. i have had a 400w 12" fusion in it and 2 400 10" memphis subs in it, and a 8" bazooka tube. i have found that even though is most cases more powerfull and bigger subs sound cooler at first but since there is not much room in the rangers, everything rattles apart, and a week after you put them in you are turning them down because its just way too much. i recomend getting a bazooka tube though, maby even two of them if one wasnt enough. thats just my opinion though, hope this helps you out some.

I own a standard cab ranger and let me tell you man space. what space? But I have a Kenwood 1000 watt mounted to the wall. a MTX ranger box with the MTX 10 inch sub with MTX speakers. and a kendwood head unit. And like someone above me said it pounds just because its right against your back. My amp is so tuned down for the little 10 its being wasted but i am gonna put a 12 in the truck once i find a box i like.
