Upgrading carbs

I know alot of you use the fcr carbs off the yfz450. Can i use a carb off the 450r?? If so what years will work?? these are a little bigger and i can get one way cheaper than the yfz carbs, thanks.

04-05 will ,you will also need a cable and a thumber and maybe a hotstart

Well the one i might be trying to get come with all cables if thats what you mean... what exactly are the other things?

lose the air box ,get a better intake boot the one off from a trx 450 r will work ,cut all the extra stuff you dont need .
come to think of it i have just what you need to do that .

you would need a filter and a short piece of 3'' muffler pipe and 3 hose clamps

so your saying i should get that custom black peice from you and the boot, then i get the carb and im all set? i need the air box for trails... Is there any reason why u choose the fcr 39 carb over the 450r carb?

i suspect you all ready have a air box and for trailing i need one to , modding the box as i did still keeps the water off , for the most part i dont use it, i stay away from that kind water .

but if i know its going to be unavoidable it gos back on

there is a boot thats made for a ds650 that will fit all most as good as the 450r's but i do not have a bracket to offer for it .

you will have to go to a dealer to get it , got mine for just under
$42.
its then cut to a more desirable Leight of 9''

all i did was buy a drz front boot and a 400ex rear boot keppt the air box and that was it the 400ex boot is better bc its strighter and less drag for the intake air i mean i also bought a 450 throttel and cable and at z400central they have jet specs

yeap my buddy had a kfx set up like that and i bought a carb and did the same thing bc i have a 470 kit and hot cams and that stock junker wasnt puttin out lol
