I just finished my hyrbid about 2 weeks ago, i raced an 08 ltr450 yesterday with a cherry bomb and yoshi exhaust. Mines an 05 crf450 with a titanium powerbomb headpipe, powercore exhaust and a hinson clutch.

We hit it from a role in 1st gear; 1st through 4th gear we were dead even and on 5th he started pullin me. Mines geared 13 to 38 and has 18's on the back. If i change the gearing will it make it faster 1st through 3rd. Or do I need a cdi box. I don't care about having alot of top end. I just thought i'd be faster than that ltr taking off. His was geared 13 to 37 and had 18's

the 37 rear sprocket makes a difference on top end, thats wht he walked away from you on the top end

I understand that, but I was wondering if changing the gearing on mine would help the bottom end

yea if you drop a tooth or two in the back it will help you come off the line quicker and you'll be able to bang the gears a bit quicker too. best thing, is start small, like on etooth down and go from there. but in my opinion, a 35 or 36 rear sprocket should help your fight.

i have an 04 crf with just a head clean up done, and a rossier. i run a 14-36 or 38. my buddy has a ltr with yosh pipe, bomb, filter, and some intake thing. im 210 and hes like 160ish and ive nailed him and acouple other supposed "yosh" ltrs, yfs and trxs on starts. the rossier made a world of different.

The hybrid isnt a magically faster quad becouse it has a dirt bike motor in it. They are all relatively close unless you do a good build on it. My old YFZ450 pulled the 426 houser quad every time but the houser handled way better. My ltr got pulled by a couple lengths by a 525 ktm But they are all fairly close.

Appreciate it.! I guess i can't be to mad, I don't have near as much invested in mine as he does with his ltr.

Did any of you guys have a problem with your chain wanting to rub your swingarm. I was thinking if i put a 14 on the front it would help it run faster and maybe give it more clearance.
