I know this has been on here before, but what is all needed, or the best way to install the carb. Also, the jetting, no airbox lid, full exhaust, minor port work, just to clean the ports. Any help or suggestions. Thank you! The fcr came off a 05 crf 450.

You will need a Noss adapter to connect the FCR to the air box intake. The TPS will need to be cut off the old carb and rewired to the FCR. I used a 2003 MX style CRF carb and my hot start hook right up to the FCR. You may need to trim the intake insulator boot in the notch area for the FCR to fit properly. I may have miss something, if you can't get enough info here, Try TRX450.org There is alot of good people, that will be glad to help. Good luck.
:)

I allmost forgot. You will be very happy with the results.:D

Not if you get the NOSS adapter.

so, use the adaptor or change the airbox, will the carb fit under the fuel tank with any problems? Just want everything to go together smoothly!

The CRF carbs clear the gas tank fine.
Its the 06+ TRX carbs that hit the tank on the 05.

Also a nice thing to have for that setup is the fuel hose off of an 08 TRX.
The fuel inlet on the FCR carbs is lower on the carb then the 05 stock carb. So your stock fuel hose is going to be kind of short. Also it will be all stretched out from the 05's larger fuel barb and u will need a hose clamp to keep it from leaking.
The 08 line is perfect size/length for it, or u can rig up ur own home made line.

Also when you rewire the new TPS plug onto the FCR carb, make the wires like 6" longer so they are able to reach the plug on the harness.

Also here is how the colors of your wires should be once you switch the TPS plug.

On the left are the wires coming from the FCR with the 05 stock TPS plug pinned onto them.
On the right is the 05 harness plug.

is there really a big difference the 04-05 & the 06 & up airbox or will the 04-05 work fine? Thank you for your help!

The 05 box will work perfect with the NOSS adapter, like its factory.

The 06+ box sucks in the 05 frame, some of the bolts don't line up and the intake boot is on an angle which makes it hard as hell to get onto the carb.

Besides, the 05 intake tube with the NOSS adapter is dyno or flowbench (forget which) proven better then the 06 intake.

If you want to be able to take it later, for boring etc. Then use something like silicone caulk.

If you KNOW you will never want to take it off again, then JB weld it.

And depending on your carb, you might have to file a small lip off the input side of the carb for the NOSS adapter to slide on.
