I just got done breaking in the motor this weekend. I went out to ride it. I warmed it up and took a lap around the yard. It started spuddering like it was out of gas, but it wasn't. Then it died and would not start not even a blurp. IT has spark and fuel so i don't know where to even start? any help would be great thanks.

It takes 3 things to make an engine run: Fuel, fire and compression. Check all of these things first. If all that checks out, check ignition and cam timing.

Make sure the vent on the gas cap is not clogged. If it is, it creates vacuum lock and the will kill the engine.

mine did the same.. but.. lol come to find out it ceased up. . no compression. Do a compression test on it if nothing else.

If you just fininshed rebuilding the engine, since you were breaking it in, I'd check the the timing. I'm guesing the key sheared and the timing is off. Easy to do, cheap part to replace. (Under $5.00) I know as I just did it on an XR 80 I rebuilt.

Let us know what you find.

well I went in to the garage today after work and it started right up but then did the same thing right after i got it warmed up. It stalled and wouldn't start. I tapped the float thinking that it was stuck. went to start it. it ran for maybe 10 sec then died. still don't know the prob.

Check fuel flow from the tank to the carb, also check fuel flow through the inlet needle of the carb.

yea, my guess is that your fuel supply is cutting out. try to see if it will run (don't ride) without the gas cap on.
