I was just wondering what some of you might think a stock kfx 400 motor could take for rpm's. I bought a three way adjustable procom rev box for that can add 0,1000, or 2000 more rpm's and it also has nine different power curve settings.

I've been thinking of doing this and everything I've read is that 1000rpm's is "safe"....2000 is asking for it!??
One post I read that the guy went with the 2000rpm increase and after a few hours of riding blew the motor....who know's what else happened to cause it to blow though

I would really stick with the 1000+ only, and thats pushing it without the DRZ upgrade. IMO

I think it is valve spring upgrade. I was just wondering where I can get the upgrade and how much it will cost. I would like to be able to get the most out of the rev box. Also is it a simple install or is necessary to have a dealer install the kit.

dont go more than a 1,000rpm, there's a rev limit for a reason...... just saying....

and yes the drz springs are a dual valve spring setup

the drze kit comes with everything to rebuild your top end including a thinner base gasket which bumps your compression just a lil which helps. If your going to put valve springs in your going to need a head gasket anyway so it couldnt hurt to get the rest and to put a base gasket in is just another couple mins

the ltz's are known for stretching timing chains. the new did chain wont stretch. The base gasket bumps the compression ratio up .9 then you get the new valve guide seals and all the gaskets. I needed a chain so it was well worth it for me.
