is there a way you can offset aggressive porting with say; pipe, reeds or carb??? throwing that out there

nope that would make it run worse, you either pick top end, low end, midrange or mid-top. im sure the porting is not too crazy though, you could prolly send it to neil and he could tame it down a bit, im not sure but i dont think they cut much metal off. they just smooth everything down and call it a drag port.

i really respect guys who do port work on 2-strokes. it is a whole different approach to porting a 4-cycle engine.

Oooooo ya. 2-stroke porting is tuff to learn.

Keep lookin man i found a ct310 for 475 bucks on the stock bore, deals are to be had, you just have to wait.

Porting goes in stages Low first"Woods", then Mid second"MX, then last is High"Drag". You can go from woods to MX or Drag, from MX you can only go to Drag. Once ur at a drag port all that can be done is clean it up. You can NOT down grade without welding ports up and resleeving. Neil can verify this. You always match carb and pipe to the port job not match port job to them.

well they dont really cut much metal at esr for the "drag port" so im hoping that exhaust port hasnt been cut to far and it can be salvaged as a mid-top end cylinder if reported.
