Hey guys,
Right now I am scrambling to build up my 450r. I have the HRC kit, and I finally rode the bike for the first time this weekend, and it really out pulled my old mx yfz from mid to top, I was very impressed. Now, I found a decent deal on a full HMF balance exhaust, will I pick up noticiable gains over the HRC set-up? I plan to get a pipe eventially, but right now I am also in need of a set of a-arms and a +4 axle, so is this pipe really worth it? Or should I wait around and pick up a sparks or something later and just continue running my HRC setup?

Go full exhaust the stock silencer just isn't going to cut it unless you never plan to do any other mods other than the hrc kit. and you can get some money back by selling the hrc header.

Would his fit yours though,i see you hav a 2006 and he's got a 2005?

If it was my choice and it was between a pipe and better handling id go for the handling ONLY if i raced though

oh i didn't even notice his is an 05. i dont wanna hi-jack his thread but will an 05 headpipe fit an 06??

the 05 hrc kit DOES NOT include a new exhaust header

the stock 06 header is larger than the 05 so you really dont want the 05 header

yes the 05 will have nice gain by adding full system to hrc kit

(bump compression would really help it)

I was under the impression that the 05 HRC kit included a header also? No?

I had thought so too.I thought it was a cam,header,and diferent end cap...

'05 hrc kit = end cap, cam, spark arrester, air box lid, intake snorkel, and jets
(main, slow, and needle)

'06 hrc kit = cam, large diameter header, spark arrester, sub harness (+1000rpm), larger breather T, hrc needle and jets, and you totally remove air box lid

'05 hrc450r vs '06 hrc450r is not even close
(the 06 will pull away hard)

'05 suffers with stock 10.5:1 compression
'06 stock 12:1 compression
