well i notice that when my brother rides the 525s he like to hammer the throttle and then let it go right away..
so it always pops loud after he does this.
i just want to know if its safe on the quad because i told him to stop doing that but he said it dint matter.

just looking if it really does not matter. he does it pretty much any time he presses the gas then after a loud POP!

thanks

Sounds like the jetting isn't right

If it goes.....pop, pop,pop,pop.......It's an exhaust leak.

If it goes.......pop...........pop.........it's a lean pilot.

Neither are a big issue but are easily fixed.

well it does no do it wen I drive it since I don't completely full blast the gas then release completly. My 525s is completly stock. Only one loud gunshot style backfire

It's not really a big problem but its easy to fix (or make much better) and because you have the KTM engine and a FCR Carb heaps of people have them and the same problems.

Try adjusting your fuel screw.......half a turn at a time. Some people use aftermarket fuel screws or carb bowls. If you do a search on "pop on deceration" you will get heaps of hits; heaps of info.

You may want to go to Predator Owners.......heaps of Outlaw owners with experience of your issue.

Don't take it to a shop......they have no idea and they won't test it to see if they have got it right anyway.

Its an exhaust leak where the header joins the flange on the head. Common on the 525's.

Get some high temp (2000*) silicone sealant and put a small bead around the exhaust flanges and then slid the header onto the flange. Problem solved. Let it cure for a day or so.

will try ajsting the carb. If that fails I will put some hi temp sealent on the header. Thanks for the help!
