Well, what do ya'll think? I started on this track in January. I have spent many hours and gallons of diesel there. I bought a John Deere CT332 and am still working on a water truck. I'm borrowing one right now. I can tell you it is alot more work than I thought. I can only imagine what it's like for somebody like Dan Harris (BPG).

looks fun for a private track, but it doesnt look like it would last after a day of riding. Does it get torn up real bad?

It holds up pretty good for the amount of sand in it. I'm slowly getting all the jumps faced with clay. The sand is good though because it can take alot of rain.

wow what i would give to have that track. and how do you build the jumps right for how far the landing is placed?

protraxrptr17

I've been riding for so long that I just kinda know, if that makes any sense to you. Of course I usually have some fine tuning to do, like moving the landing a little farther out, or changing the lip a little. Sometimes I build something that just sucks any way you look at it. I listen to the riders, if they want something, I build it for 'em. That's the whole reason for the investment I have made. All these track owners around here have the same old lame jumps that they've had forever, won't prep, won't water, don't care what the riders want. I'm out there working almost every day after work, and all day on saturday. I do ride on it myself a little bit, but my main goal is keeping the riders happy. If any of ya'll are ever in my area, come check it out.

I'm in Warren, which is about 30 miles south of Pine Bluff. The address is

916 Bradley 7 Rd S
Warren, AR 71671
if you want to google it or something. I usually keep everybody updated on myspace or text messages on conditions and when we are going to ride. If you want, I can PM you my phone numbers and myspace link. I don't want to get in trouble for posting that here because it is for my business. I don't really know if it is against the rules or not, but better safe than sorry.

Yeah, I have to charge something to help cover my lease, equipment costs and fuel. I don't know if it's OK to post how much cause then it seems like I'm spamming. We can talk about that in PM's I guess. It's a very small amount (I think), and it helps to keep some undesirables away.

I have lights too. I'm gonna try to have 'em put up in a month or so. That'll be nice when the weather gets hot. It'll cut down on the watering I'll have to do and it'll be good for riding too.

Track looks like fun!
I think alot of us are jealous! :blah: lol
Since you have put so much hard work into it ,I got to thinking about liabiity insurance.
I dont know if you are doing this already or if you have even thought of this ,but are you properly insured? Do you have riders sign a waiver when they ride your track? Might be something to think about if you havent to protect yourself.

I make everybody sign a waiver, riding or not. I asked another track owner (who has been in business for 20+ years) about insurance, and was told that there is no such thing for a motocross track. I have an older guy who comes in my shop every once in a while, and it doesn't matter what I'm working on, he says, "Ohh, I wouldn't work on that, if it breaks they'll sue you." I look at it this way, if I had insurance to cover everything that I could get sued for, I would lose everything I have anyway because I couldn't pay my bills. I just try to watch who I let ride. If they look like they are about to hurt themselves I tell them to slow down or leave. I also have faith that God will look out for me, and if he sees fit for me to get sued or not is up to him. "Consider the lillies" I know it sounds crazy, but thats really the only way you should do anything. (BTW,we don't ride on Sundays :D )
