i tried to strip the paint off my 250r frame. the yellow spray paint comes right off. and i can see the base color of the frame. but the stock red wont completly come off. i plan on por-15 my frame black. will the por-15 still stick good even with minor paint still on the frame? i really dont wanna wait and spend extra $ to get the frame sand blasted. thanks

nope the por15 will never harden right or be sticky without it being sandblasted..it will be like spray paint..it only cost me 40 bucks to get my a arms, frame and swingarm sandblasted...

tants, go to the hard ware store and buy a good wire wheel for the drill, pour the aircraft stripper on, then scrap , then take the wire wheel to it, it will take some time but it will save u some dough

Tants I think all you have to do is get most of the paint off and then fether the rest with 180 grit sand paper then get self etching primer 2 or 3 coats this will take care of any sanding marks then you should be off.The self etching primer will eat into the paint and metal on the frame and has a ruff texture so any thing will stick to it. good luck hope this helps P.S. you can get self etching primerat NAPA:macho

no you should use the metal ready that por15 makes instead of somethin from napa

If you have like a John Deere dealer near you, go there. Ask them if they have ''John Deere Paint and Decal Remover''. Get a couple cans spray it on, come back 15 min. later with a shoptowel and some gloves. Just wipe it off. This stuff is NOT safe for plastic! Check the can before you use it on aluminum, I'm not shure its safe for that! This is some nasty stuff, be careful.

A SAND BLASTER GUN IS ONLY LIKE 10-15 BUCKS. 5 DOLLARS FOR 100 POUNDS OF SAND, AND HOOK IT UP TO YOUR AIR COMPRESSOR AND GET BUSY. IT'S CAKE.

5 bucks for a 100 pounds...that must be regular ole playground sand..that stuff doesnt work good at all...ive tried with the spray gun for 17 bucks at tsc...now that aluminum oxide sand works great

Slimy? Just sprat it on, let it set for about 20 minutes, and hose it off. No need to touch it, just be careful when hosing it off so you do get it on you!

Aircraft stripper works great,,,,,,the piece being stripped should be warm,,,it doesnt work well when its in a cold enviroment. But i have found out that the stock honda paint and primer is a real pain to get off completely. I ended up havin mine sandblasted.

but this is what the stripper will do to PC,,,,i dont use the spray cans i get it in the gallons............and its supposed to be slimey so it stays in contact with the parts being stripped...;)
