What is everybody running. Are you happy with the performance of the pipe you are running.I just got my 09 yfzr and love the suspension over my 06 but it feels like a pig in the power department.Been looking at the DASA.What programer does everybody recomend? Thanks for the opinions...John

I have a buddy who just bought one and he is getting ready to put a HMF system on it, i have not heard of any other systems though. There could be a better system, but HMF is a great way to go also.:D

I Bet the DRD exhaust is nice since that is what nelson runs and the rest of yamaha.

i have the gytr slip on with the dynojet powercomander. i had a HMF full system on my old yfz i was a great system. then i fliped a few times at lorreta's and put the gytr full system on it and it opened it up every where and i loved it. after looking at the drd and the gytr i think they are the same pipe just with differnt names on it. i tried the slip on with out the powercomander. it stumbled on the the bottom but did great on top and mid.

i think the gytr would be the best way to go. its made by yamaha so they know what works best with their own quads. if you couldnt get that then HMF is the way to go.

If you go with the GYTR then you should just get the DRD. DRD is the one that made the GYTR for yamaha.

Does yours have the *cough* when you rev it hard while its in nuetral?

Yes it still does but not as bad.Trying to find more out on that.Really is annoying.

You know, every time I read about the off idle 'cough' on the yfzr, I wonder what effect that has on anything other than revving your motor while you're not riding.
My other EFI quad does the same thing as my yfzr.

Neither EVER stumbles when I 'm on the track, and I nail the throttle. They just scream. There is never a bog or cough.
I'm sure no one else's yfzr ever stumbles when being ridden.

not sure what the post ws called but it was on here were i read it.if you put a zip tie on the accelerator pump arm(inside carb)it eliminates the spring.if the spring is weak then it doesnt work correctly and you get a shot of fuel and a big shot from needle at the same time and it makes it stutter or cough or bog, whatever when u stab it.i have done the mod on several bikes including dirt bike with 39mm carb.works great.

That would work on a yfz, but the yfzR has fuel injection and does not have a carb or accelerator pump ;)

I never owned the old model yfz. When it bogged, did it bog when you punched the throttle while riding?

Me and my son went riding last Sunday and I wanted to drag race him because he now has my 06 yfz.It has an HMF full system, jetted and has the FC intake.Mine is the 09 yfzr with a Rossier full system pc5 and FCI filter kit.I had him untill I just hit 4th and he went around me.We tried this 3 times and it was the same everytime. He is 16 yrs old and Im 90 lbs heavier than him plus the weight difference of the quad.I have 4 wheel scales and Im going to weigh them to see the exact difference. The 09 dosent seem to have the top end the 06 does.I was thinking about changing the cams to gain more mid and top end.Has anybody heard of anyone changing the cams in them yet?If so how did they perform.

Sorry for stirring this thread the wrong way, but saw this and had to ask.
