If anyone lives in Pa or surrounding states, Check this out!!!

http://tourdeforest.marienville-fire.com/

It runs from May 16 to May 17th. Only cost $35 for the whole weekend. I have heard that the trails are very nice and well groomed there. This will be my first time going and will let you all know how it is. Here is another link to their info:

Just a warning this ride is all on national forest roads. Very good for taking the family but if you are looking for trails or anything with a challenge you will be very dissapointed.

I heard that too Cory, but one of my friends who rode there last yr said they oppen up some other trails that the Fire Dept own and they are off the main trail. He told me that some of them are pretty tough, Some Rock/hill climbs that are impressive. And some very good mud pits. I cant tell you for sure since I have yet to go there. I will post after the ride what I think about the trails and if its worth the 3hr ride from Buffalo NY.

i doubt that they actually open them up...as i have heard that rumor for a few years, but everyone i have talked to that has gone say they didn't see them...they are pretty strict with this run...they check reg, and insurance. they tag you and your ride...we call it a gramma and grampa run...i went once...fell asleep on the trail...or should i say fire road...

be aware that unlike other runs where, for the one day deal, anyway, the entry fee includes playing poker, theirs is not. i went with $20 as i don't like to carry a lot of $$$ at poker runs. My plan was to pay the stated $15 entry fee, and grab something to eat along the way...got there...it was $15 to ride and $5 to play poker.

so i ended up paying $15 to ride on roads, i didn't even get to draw cards.

they now have radar guns to keep you at the 25 mph speed limit.

the ride is not worth the price...

my name for it is the "tour de boring"

which is hard for me to say considering that it is to benefit the fire dept, which is always a good cause, i just have a hard time with the ease of terrain(again, mostly fire roads that i could take a 2 wd car down) and they amount of rules that they have and enforce(speed limit with radar gun usage)
