What would be the best investments for xc racing, i'm tired of being beat up after a race and i want something to help that along with being easy to control so i can go faster

would 450r shocks make a big enough difference or should they be rebuilt to be worth it?

Steering Stabilizer? etc.

handlebard, tires, better front shocks. also a 14 tooth front sprocket.

Dude if your racing 450s with a 400ex you for one better be on your game to be on them for one there power is hard to match ,two suspention is definitly gonna help you big time I ride with my buddys 450 and its hard to catch them once they hit the straights allways playing catch up my friend not a better rider but hes bike is faser out the turns and it sucks for me . Plan in future to get 450 and give him a taste of hes own med!
