Here is a bracket I made going to put the shocks on later tomorrow. I used the stock front fender supports (cut the center section) but I am still going to weld some flat stock across the front to make it 1 piece again.

I will post more pics when it is all done

If you see the quad in the backgroung of the side view pic ...That is where I made the bracket from. It is my buddys 250x frame with 350x motor , 350x swingarm & axle & 400ex front end. There are only so many ways you can make this bracket so they are all going to look somewhat the same

All I need is 400ex a-arms...right? And shocks, but I mean, do the 400 ball joints fit? What about tie rods?

Glad to see the A-Arms and Tie-Rods worked out. Just out of curiosity did I send you the lower shock mount bolts also?

Looks good!

Jason

Hey Quadperson: I still have the stock shocks from my 2002 if you are planning this. PM me if you are interested.

Quad person
you need following parts:
400ex upper & lower arms
400ex tie rod (center rods only you can use your 300ex ends)
400ex shocks
300ex to 400ex shock mount

02 red rider

I know that alot of guys replace all that stuff on their 400's, so finding it shouldn't be a problem, but how much money are we talkin' here?

I got 200 in parts
About $5 in metal to make mount but I made mine at my machine shop
There is a guy on here selling mount for about $40-$60

I don't understand why people use the 400's shocks or the R's for that matter. I did this conversion myself and just bought a set of works DRS Steelers st up for +2" A-Arms and it lowered the ride height up front but it handles so much better then stock.

you dont understand why people use stock shocks...I paid $70 for 1 time ridden shocks thats why !
Down the road I will get some aftermarket shocks when the money is there to buy good shocks
