hi everybody i just found a cr ignition or atleast i am told it is a 01 cr ignition for my trx 250r the numbers on the flywheel are kz3v 032000-960 0 8bx vcj31 just wondering if this is the cr250 ignition every one is looking for

just got done reading some old dirtwheels books and from 2001-2002 and had several tests on 250r with using both 2000-01 ignitions everyone seemed to like both but most prefer 01 for the curve they have but the 00 will work also and a good upgrade from stock..

wondering if this is the ignition part number for an 01 cr 250 i went to service honda but some of the numbers are different but the kz3v and i looked at the picture from esr and the cdi has the kz3v but dont know if it matters about the other numbers if it means a 125 and the kz3v means its an 01

i bought the ignition still not sure if it is the right one where the wires come through the case it has a huge rubber gromet is this normal and u guys cut it down or did i waste my money

you have to cut it down to fit the hole of the 250r. its defeneatly not a bolt on mod, you have to do some fabbing for the coil mount, and trimming and splicing i believe. thats why i have held off for doing this mod.

KZ3V is the 01 cr250 box. The rubber gromet as someone else said you have to cut down to fit the case. NO splicing of the harness is needed. Your kill switch or tether plugs in the only 2 plugs left and you are good to go once you get the stator and coil mounts.

sorry for the bad info. i thought i heard somewhere that splicing is required.
