not sure of the specifics, but i believe stroker cranks utilize a "stroker piston" with a shorter skirt that will clear the rod. maybe somebody else can confirm or clarify.

yea im pretty sure you cant

you can if you get your crank stroked by powroll. they install a shorter rod. The main difference in a regular piston and a stroker is the piston pin to deck height. with a +4 crank it has to be 2mm shorter and the skirt is shaved.

with the +4 hot rods crank you have to run the stroker piston. they move the wrist pin hole down on the piston and shave the skirt.

They move the wristpin hole up to lower the piston back into the cylinder. Well actually they dont really move the wristpin hole. The top of the piston is shaved off. I had a regular 11.1 piston which was a dome top, now my 11.5:1 stroker piston is just a flat top.

i meant up, sorry. but after a certain compression they do start moving the wristpin hole, i'm not sure of the exact compression ratio but you are right the do flatin the top of the piston down. we have a 12.5 to 1 stroker piston and the wrist pin is moved up.

not to impose or sound stupid but what would running a stoker piston with a stock rod do? I think it would go down too far and fall out of the sleeve but am not sure. steve

it would lower your compression for one and i'd say rings coming out of the sleeve would be a possibility also.
