blue smoke?

my 300ex has light blue smoke coming out of the tail pipe is not real heavy but you can still c it go by the plastics can anyone tell me y my atv is doing this. the engine is pretty much stock except for open intake and k and n filters

your rings are bad. the thing is burning oil because it is getting past the rings. the lowest ring, the oil ring, is worn out. if it runs alright otherwise and stuff, then you don't need to do a full rebuild. i would suggest looking at the valves and the valve springs to make sure they are not sticking because that engine seems to have a lot of hours on it if the rings are bad. maybe some important bearings and stuff too but it depends on what you are willing to spend. what year is it?

more than likely its the rings.. i have a 2003 and the whole piston was cracked. anything that smokes, i like to tear down the head and pull the cylinder to check condition of piston and rings. If you have a valve compressor handy.. just replace the cheap valve seals just for S&G.

every 300 ex it sits beside looks just the same. Not even remotely close to a trx90.. engine's don't even look the same, ,, u trying to pick a fight here?
