400EX vs. 350X?

Anyone ever ran these two side by side? I know a guy with an old 350X who wants to run 'em. I don't wanna do it if I'll just embarass myself.

I realize the 400 should make more power but fear the 350 may have a better power to weight ratio, especially when you factor in that I probably outweigh him by 40-50 pounds on top of it.

in the sand i beat 2 of them. we all had paddles and this is when my quad was stock.

Yeah, you might want to be careful. Back in the day, a few people were putting 350X engines in their 400ex so they could get rid of the battery and associated wiring, brackets, etc. If I remember correctly, the 350X had a 6-speed trans, too. From what I heard, they were pretty fast. I say race him and find out for yourself. I wouldn't put pinks on it, though.:devil:

he should have trouble keeping the front down so he will have to let off a bit, so if you can keep yours down then you could have an advantage there.

Dont worry about being embarrased. Ive raced many times where i knew i would lose but did anyways just because its fun. One time i raced a turbo'd trans am. I was in the lawn and he was on the blacktop. I got the hole shot but i think you can figure out what happened after that.

on my 400 in the sand i've stomped on a few 350x a ltz 400 and 450 a ds 450 and 650 and a stock 450r.

if you are both stock dont run him on top side the 350x will run out way faster than a stock 400ex but in 300 feet u should be all right
