I just got done installing my sparks advancing +6 key, i went to start it ,and it turns over and wants to run. Could my timing of off? Thats the only thing i can think of. I have the red part of the key out and the fly wheel slid back into place. I think the grove on the key is to the rear. Thanks

some csi boxes need perfect voltage to fire so maybe the battery needs charged or the csi is bad.

dumb questions but someone has to ask you lol

did you turn the gas on?

did you hook your ignition wires up right

is your kill switch in the run position

did you install your flywheel correctly

did you hook your neutral wire back up

and did you hold your flywheel to the left which advances the timing?

if you tried all of those things you might see if you can track down a stock cdi to try that and see if it works

Yeah i think i did everything right, im lucky i saved my stock CDI so i'll give that a try tommorow. But the two together could it be too much advancement that it wouldn't run?

did it ever run or did it sheer off trying to start it.... i did mine today with no problems...

I have heard of keys shearing but it seems like a rare occurance. I would think it would only shear if it wasnt torqued down allowing the flywheel to spin by itself.

The 400 never started, i tourqed it to 94ft/lbs

Was there any oil or residue on the crank or flywheel taper?

Spray each the crank taper and flywheel taper with brake cleaner/carb and choke cleaner/etc. Basically something that will clear off any oils and leave no residue. The taper can't properly seat otherwise.
