E- Series pipe set ups

I am running a E-Series on a stock motor with a twin-air and open air box. I'm having trouble tuning and jetting it. Do I set up the discs first or jet it first, and if anyone has any set ups that seem to work. Now I am running 12 discs and a 160 main with the needle down one clip.

White bro's, in the manual that comes with pipe, say's 12 discs on the 400ex on the dyno worked best. as far as jetting you should have only had to go up a couple sizes on the main jet.[if your carb is stock with no jet kit!!] good luck..

I had talked to white bros. they try 18discs, and a 165 main but that sounded high for a stock motor:huh

Yea thats what one of my friends is running, I'd try a 152 or 155 main jet with a 42 pilot.

I ran that set up before my 416. It ran perfect. I also moved the needle up one notch and used a 40 pilot.

You can see what I am jetted at, I am running stock airfilter though. I also moved the needle up one notch. In the cool crisp air of winter it tends to pop a little when compression hits but in the summer time it is perfect. I also messed with the fuel/air screw a little and that seemed to help some. I am running whatever it came with, I can't exactly remember but I am thinking it was 12.
