Motor is rattling

My quads motor is rattling within the crankcase. If i press my hand against the crankcase cover while it is running you can feel it shaking and also with the clutch cover but less noticable. While I was riding it the other day The motor just stopped and i had to push it back. and when i tried to start it would crank slowly like 2 times and stop. then i tried it like 30 minutes later and it started it seemed to be running okay but the rattling would get worse every once and a while. It seems like it is harder to shift in to first and harder to find neutral than usual. Anybody have any ideas on what could be the problem.

It really depends....when i herd something coming from my bottom end it turned out being my crank=[

what do you mean it turned out to be your crank, like what was happening?

if your hearing bad noises from your lower end tear that sucker down and figure it out. Why keep riding it and damage more things when you can figure this out.

If it is mid way up the engine it could be piston scoring or damaged, cam chain, lifters or a combination of things.

My recommendation is to tear it down and figure it out or take it to a shop that can do it for you. If you run it like that and there is something wrong you will ultimately tear up more things by not fixing this problem.

yea, i'm not planning on riding it anymore. I want to tear it apart myself but I'm not that mechanically inclined, so i'm just looking for some ideas on what to look for. I'll probably just end up bringing it somewhere, but i'd rather save the money and do it myself if possible.
