just finished my 03 . It was raced gncc and man was it whipped! Swing arm bolt sucked. New plastic and ever bearing. I bought the bike because the motor was built by Baldwin motor sports here in Ohio, its has some head work done and a hot cam. pulled the nerf bars, the are not my thing. Is it up to par?

That is the best looking "black look" quad I've seen. Very nicely contrasted with the graphics and hints of bling polished and or chrome. It's a very nice balance. I do miss the look of the nerfs but function over form for sure. VERY nicely done. Congrats.

What kind of riding do you plan to do? As mentioned above you will need the nerfs for almost any racing class. I do not race mine but find the nerfs to be very useful. The main thing is safety - when my foot slips or is knocked off the peg it gets stopped by the net instead of going to the ground and getting wrapped under the quad. I also like the "slider" effect of the nerfs on tight trails with big rocks and trees. Same idea as rock sliders on trucks.

nice looking quad man! I run with no nerfs in the GNCC series with no problems! to each their own.

nerfs are overrated. they slow you down in mud puddles and can drag loose debris on them. for motocross i think it is necessary to keep wheels from getting tangled.

I like it, the swinger should be yellow too.

Thanks guys, didn't plan on racing it. (no need for nerfs) got it for the woods when its too muddy for the yz. plus it helps to have the open space by feet to use reverse.:D

only MX requires nerfs. XC most don't run them. I can't stand them personally.

That is an awesome 400 haven't ever seen one like that

First Iam out here in chardon Ohio. Secound let me tell you about nerfs. they look cool yes , iam sure they help you from dragging feet and getting wheels tangeled . I have been riding dirt bikes for 32 years and atvs for 26 years . In the beginning atvs didn't have heel guards, I stayed on the pegs then . and dirt bikes always had small pegs . control your bike and stay on it! it's when you are out of control that you fall off.

I've been riding dirt and street only 30 years but still... Let the guys/gals think about their safety gear including nerf bars. They will help if your foot comes off the peg for whatever reason. so they are worth thinking about. There's more risk on an atv than a bike because it is much easier for your foot/leg to get wrapped under an atv. I'd never say you must use them but will continue to encourage people to think about them. I've never felt they get in the way or cause any inconvenience so in my case there is no reason not to use them. No matter what your skill level or experience, unexpected stuff happens.

Oh yes I do agree on the safety part, for the type of riding you are doing. I was just replying on other comments ,saying that I should have them.
