Well I searched this and came up with about a 1/2 dozen different answers. Im looking to get an 250r axle because there about $100 cheaper used than the ex axles for a lsr or rpm. My question though is what else do I need to replace? So far the only certain for sure thing I know of is the rear wheel hubs. Most have said a 250r locknut. I have also read some posts that said that you need to replace your sprockets and rotor or rotor hubs. I want to know exactly what I need before I actually buy one. I have no axle, lock nut, rotor hub, or sprocket hub which usually the axles comes with so they will need to be purchased anyway. So im kinda starting new but I do not want to have to replace the rotor and sprockets I have. Not to be an arse but i would like to hear from people that have done this or know of people who have that are certain of there answers not just guessing. Dont wanne be pissing away money on things that wont work. thanks

you need these 250r parts to make it work with 250r axle:

wheel hubs
antifade lock nut
brake bracket
250r rear brakes

the only thing that is the same is bearing carrier. 250r and 400ex have different spline count.
