Hey how in the world do you pull out the spark plug on these things??? Im mechanically inclined but the plug is in the middle of nowhere... Any tips?

The tool honda gives in the tool box pretty helpful. Best thing i have found to get it out. Not the best design ill give ya that.

^^^^ agreed that is the only one i use. it gets the job done i guess. i know they make a socket to fit it easier but i am not sure who or where to get it. steve

lol man i have the same prob myn didnt come with the tool kit and i dont have a skinny enuff soccet to fit in the darn hole and the one that the honda shop around me selles is 25 bucks lol for a soccet but ill have to buy it sooner or later

I have a socket that the outside was ground down to fit and get the plug out ... works pretty good

A Gearwrench 3/8" drive 18mm socket will fit in the hole, any other socket that bulges around the edges will not fit. They can be had at Advance Auto Parts, K-mart, or Sears for around $5-6.

I bought an ordinary deep well 18mm socket from the local hardware store and it fits perfect. Try Ace or True Value, they should have it for around 5-6 bucks. It is made by Allen, this is what their logo looks like:

Other than that, you can get the stock plug wrench from a Honda dealer. You can also get a 18mm spark plug socket specifically made for the 400EX from Motion Pro: http://www.motionpro.com/motorcycle/partno/08-0175/
