View Full Version : Whats the best swingarm skidplate??

I am stuck between the AC Racing($129.99) and the ROCK SWINGARM SKID PLATE($89.99). Really those r the only 2 that i can find on motosport, any others or if anybody knows a cheaper place to find these please let me know!! Any input would be great!! DANN

Never buy the DG Baja. Complete POS. Bolts don't line up, and you lose tons of ground clearance.

i would get a pro armour its the thickest one i found. ive put in through hell and it just put a couple of scratches on it

i bought a UM....... It lasted about 4 miles before I bent it up to the sprocket... so unless you like prying your skids before you ride Id buy something else... like PRM or armadillo...

Honestly... dont be cheap. you are talking about one of the most important things you can buy for a sport quad. DG is junk AC is junk. PRM is wat i run and its excellent. I got 7 years of hard trail riding out of my first one and i just picked up my second and i think it will last even longer. its redesigned and beefier. 1/4 in. thick aluminum. There was another skidplate i remember hearing about, made by a company called pro-tec and they make a stainless steel skidplate that is indestructable check it out

Ricochet or PRM. Don't even bother with Pro Armor made in China garbage. You pay a premium for the name, definitely not the quality. You'll be replacing it in less than 3 months if you do any kind of rough terrain with a Pro Armor. Been there, done that.

durablue makes one I wanna try. Its made outta a plastic material do it wont dent up into your sprocket and rotor. Also save some weight. I took my skid off because all it did was dig in my rotor and collect pounds of mud.

I've had a pro tect swing arm plate on for over 6 years and have beat the hell out of it in the Rocky Mountains. The only damage that has been done is that 2 of the bolts are so banged up I can't get a socket to grip them!! The plate itself is made of stainless steel and will not dent like the aluminum ones. Cost about $150, but well worth it.
