leaking gas

i have a 2003 400ex. my wife hit a tree the other day and ever since it has leaked gas out of the overflow tube on the carb. it does it when the bike is turned off w/ the gas on and stops as soon as i turn the gas off. it does it a lot more when the bike is running. it runs perfect, just leaks gas. any ideas?

Stuck float? try tapping the bowl with a hammer. Other than that you will need to take the carb off, inspect and clean.

tap it while it's running or off?

Turn the gas off and run the motor til it runs out of gas. Then tap the bowl of the carb with the handle of a screwdriver. Turn the gas back on and run it. If that doesn't work you're going to pull the carb and clean it.
