just wondering if anyone has ever done this? i need to lower the front end a few inches (the cheaper the better!) and can probably pick up a set of these for around 40 shipped? any opinions considered. thanks in advance

try it out and give us a shout on how it works. it is only 40 bucks but the valving in the shocks will be messed up possibly since the 250 arms a smaller than the 400 arms which puts less stress on the shocks so the valving is different. steve

it would set way too low, i put a set of 300ex fronts on mine just to see what it'd look like. The a-arms were straight across, so with 250ex shocks it'd set too low.

how much did the 300 shocks lower the front end for you? i was considering the 300 but i found the 250 a little cheaper and thought id see what every one thought

ive run 300ex and 250x shocks for drag racing and i'm pretty sure they are the same. they'll lower it probably about 6 inches and it would be to much for the trails that i ride.

I plan on using them for flat track racing and half mile races. I have 450r shocks I use for trail riding but even with the lowering kit I have the front end still sits too high. If those 300 shocks will lower it 6 inches that might almost be perfect! anybody have pics? thanks for the input everyone.

if you're going to pay for it, you may as well save your money and get them revalved for what you are using them for, it will be much better in the long run...believe me. the 250ex, 300ex shocks can not be revalved to suit your needs. call GT thunder and ask them about setting 450r shocks up for flat track, they should be able to hlep you out.

I considered it but really isnt worth it. I will trail ride more than I will race it. My cousin talks me in to going to a few races every year so I just need a cheap and easy way to lower the front. If I was really into the racing scene I would have the 450 shocks revalved and sprung but for now a smaller shock is definately the route to go IMO.

i did some research: 300 shocks are 13" eye to eye and the 250 are 12.5" eye to eye does anyone think that half inch will make an incredible difference? lower the quad, what, roughly 4 inches? like i said its just for the occasional half mile flat track race.. nothing too serious any input appreciated
