14 tooth and hard to get the chain tight

I put on a 14 tooth sprocket and had to put on a 39 tooth in the rear to get the new chain to tighten up?? I have a dual row carrier and am thinking it has a smaller adjustment? Anyone have this problem before? Pull a link out of the chain?

you cant take a link out of your chain if it is stock easy at least.
i dont really know about the dual row but with the stock one if it is maxed out the chain is stretching out and is getting wore out. i would start looking for a new one. my .02 though, steve

i took links out of my stock chain for my shorter swinger.you just have to buy a master link.theyre like 5-10 bucks

Yes, make sure you don't have your carrier in the wrong position (too far to either end of the adjustment) otherwise you'll eat your bearings
