I have a 97 Polaris 425 Magnum 4x4. I have no head lights,no dash lights, and the 4x4 isnt workng. Any idea what is wrong? Where are the fuses? Any help would be appreciated.

did you check your battery? Could be time for a replacement. Try throwing a trickle charger on it and see if you notice a difference.

Definitely start with the battery. They should be replaced every 3-5 years regardless of how they are working. As batteries die, the alternator/generator needs to work harder to keep up. This is waht kills regulators and in some cases the stators.

Put a new battery in and still no lights or 4x4. Where are the fuses and breaker switches?

your machine is kinda old.
The circuit panel should be under the front hood. There may be other fuses back by the battery/solenoid. Just follow each heavy wire off the battery. Electrical can be a pain. Just start tracing wires. Check all connections for any sign of corrosion(greening).

Even something as easy as a loose ground wire off the battery can do it. Make sure all contact points are solid and clean.

I HATE electrical problems!

You need to invest in a manual. Check out Clymer's website.

Just do a search under Clymer Manuals.

Should've asked this first, but does the quad run ok?
