cam chain and tensioner

I was thinking about doing this over the summer but IDK what chain is the most practical to replace or how to tell if the tensioner is bad
also are there any chain guides that I need to replace in the process?

i would get a crf450 cam chain and check your tensioner to see if it goes in and out by turning the screw inside it on the end to get it in and let it out to see if it goes back out.

this has a decent writeup about how to change it. any year 450 chain will work i think. steve
