Howto: Build custom exaust?

Hey, well for my next project, I am going to have to build a custom exaust. This is a first for anything that I Have had to do, and I am actualy at a blank. I would like to know any information about how to build custom exaust, and tools.. parts.. anything else will be helpful.

Also any links to this would be nice.
