Is the baffle and the spark arrestor the same thing?

no,
the baffle is the stuff that quiets the exhaust down. when it is bad, you pipe will get louder(i think{all i know it is not the spark arester})
the spark arrester is a little screen that arrests the sparks(makes it so sparks dont come out)
