getting a ds

alright i made up my mind and im going to try and get a ds.what do i need to do to this thing before i go race it? like what are some short comings and what should i have the dealer fix before i bring it home. and if i get the rider support program would it be better to get a 08 base model and get the 50in kit or the 08 x package and get the 50 in kit or should i just get the 09 mx?

If you get an 09 make sure it has the clutch update done to it and all the other updates. If you run the VIN the dealer should be able to figure it out. I found out after buying my 09 that it doesn't have the updates.

Besides that I really like my DS. I am really looking forward to racing it this year. You will not be disappointed in your choice.

kellymi, did you only need the clutch update on your 2009 and/or all the other?

My dealer said mine only needed the clutch update... Just to make sure.

so is the clutch the only problem they have?

I don't know if the other updates are done yet. I'm going to call this week and find out. I know the clutch one needs to be done though. I just hope it last through my first race this weekend, don't have any time before that.
