k i downloaded that but now what do i do it says not a valid gif extention when i try to put the pic as a avater

Open the pic in Irfanview. Then goto File, Save As..., then on the pull down menu below the file name select .gif and save the image after you resized it (65x65 pixels). Then you should be set to go. :)
