Well seeing as how Arctic cat and Suzuki are one in the same when it comes to engine besides the H1650, suzuki has the 450 so is cat going to be "building" a 450?

Actually Arctic Cat is starting to make more and more of their own engines. I don't think you will see Arctic cat building a 450, you may have noticed that they stopped selling the DVX 400.

ya i noticed that the DVX400 was gone,... was a very nice bike for its time but now with the High Output of the 450's who wants a 400? even a piped, camed, opened air box 400 would not keep up with a stock 450, i think lol

I'll take that bet! I run with 450's all the time when I race and pull holeshots and keep them behind me, not always but for the most part, I can. In my defense I run in the 30+class and practice with younger A and B class guys on 450's so I get pushed pretty hard. Feel about dead afterwards but who cares. You'll be surprised how well the 400 keeps up.

Ahhhhhh, Im with jonboy. It just depends how your bike is setup and what type of riding or racing you do.

Alright well, its easy to get a hold of an 04 DVX400 for 3900$ right now, what mods would really make it shine? full exhaust? open air box? a hot cams kit? i was really looking into getting a 09KFX450 but if the cat will keep up i'm a die hard cat fan, So i would stay with Cat

I raced mine for 2 years in cross country and it can keep up with the 450s and can be made competitive. I was able to get into the top 5 of the c class and was usually within the first three on the hole shot. Here's a list of what I had done to mine. Actually wasn't that modified.

Full HMF Exhaust
DRZe kit
Homemade intake
K&N air filter
Prefilter air box lid
Full GT Thunder rebuilt suspension.

For what i was doing suspension was the key.

Thats waaayyyyyy toooo expensive. You should be able to pick up a good used one for 2000-3000 with some stuff already on it.

last september i bought an 07 dvx brand new for 3900. i can get a new one right now that is a leftover for 3000
