Question on your uses of 24 V on your 450? I have a 450er does it help?

It makes the starter turn over twice as fast.

Its popular with XC racers for faster dead starts.
Can help starting troubles with the ER's that jetting and valve adjustments won't resolve.

That would be a parallel circuit. (Not what you want)

Right now your stock wiring is as follows:

A wire from Ground to Negative on Battery.
A wire from Positive on Battery to Starter Relay Switch.

When you stick the 2nd battery in the loop for 24v it will be as follows:

A wire from Ground to Negative on battery ONE.
A wire from Positive on battery ONE to the Negative on battery TWO.
A wire from Postive on battery TWO to the Starter Relay Switch.

So in short, from Black to Red.

I've never wired one of these up my self on these bikes, so take my advice with a grain of salt, but that is a series circuit with 2 batteries.

And don't blame me if you pop a battery in your face while trying to understand what I wrote :P
