alright, i bought some used afco tt shocks and when i jump or lift the quad off the ground the springs pull apart from where they sit like and inch and a half, is this ok or should i get new springs, its kinda annoying when i whelie and when i come down it clanks, but one bada** thing is you can make the fron like 2 inches off the ground, but if i do need new springs, where should i get them

so your sayin is the spring when all the wait is off the shocks the spring aint held in there by the top, if theres a gap between the spring and the holder thats not good.

Can you move the holder down is it a spanner nut or c-clip? if its as low as it can go see about gettin another spring or get a zps spring.

Another thing 2 inches is useless unless your drag racing. for tt you want 5" up front and 4 3/4" in the rear and if the track is tacky you can go a little lower.

ya the spring poles away from the holder lik an inch and a half, the bike sits right right now but the deal you turn to adjust the ride height, if i get the right length springs i can fix this right
this is what it looks likehttp://i466.photobucket.com/albums/rr29/Bredehoeft/Image046.jpg
i dont know if you can see but i have the adjustors turned 10 times, this is the right height for me but i am guessing the springs are shot

Is that top spring a dual rate or is that a zps kind of looks like a dual rate but idk. If its not a zps then I would see about gettin a zps spring if thats the ride height you want. other wise I would try to get ahold of the company and get the numbers off those springs and see if they can get you one around the same spring rate but a little longer.
hope this helps but getting a hold of the company would probaly be the best way to do even if they dont build them for quads they gotta know something about them, atleast more than I do.

Can't you move the preload ring down lower so there isn't any space?

ya but when i do that it sets my bike way up, for tt you need it low as possible

if your ride heights at 2 inches it could use some lifting. 5 inches in the front is what you want to be at. try cranking down on that preload until it doesn't do it anymore then check your ride height with you sitting on it.

i was saying i can set it at 2 inches, but i dont have it set like that, its a 6 right now, but if i crank it to where the spring doesnt pull apart i will be like 8 or 9 inches off the ground, my question is do i need new springs

you could buy springs from any company and make them work. espeically without jumping involved.

just my input.

you dont have any type of lowering kit for this quad that i can see. you are using the spring preload to lower it? its not made to lower it that much.

i bet if you were to adjust all the slack out of them it would sit normal. ft/tt shocks are shorter than standard oem shocks, which you can see yours are to long. if you buy a lowering kit you might fix your loose spring problem.
