why does it seem that everyone is selling their protrax front end? Are they high maintenance? what's the deal?

Maybe it's because everyone's broke and pro-trax's bring good money??

If I was employed and had the money I would buy them up. Maybe the other reason is the future of laeger is uncertain and people don't want a front end, they can't get parts for. Someone the R site is compiling a list of parts to rebuild a pro-trak, only going to NAPA auto parts, no specialty houses.

i had another protrax a few years back. i thought laeger was outrageous for their prices on rebuild. I sourced every bearing and parts I needed from a bearing distributor down the street from my house. Cost me a fraction of the price. I don't even really want to sell the protrax I have forsale..I practically just bought it.. and its in great shape.....but you know how it is.

The spherical bearings on the T-pin spindles was the only thing I had (a little) trouble finding. Made the bronze bushings for the steering stem, replaced the hiem joints with ones from McMaster Carr. I did it very cheaply.
