I've been honing in on these damn Woodducks for 3 weeks now. I had to pick up frames from the stripper this evening and something told me to take the evening off and give it one more try.

The cool part was both my boys were right beside me when this drake jumped up and got to share in the fun!

It would have been much better if the background wasnt so distracting, but these damn ducks live in the woods:p

The geese looked good against the dark trees. It took a few tries to catch it with its head in teh sun but in a spot that was very dark behind it

You should keep a net near you and try to scoop one of them up.

What lens were you using? I just picked up an old Minolta 400/4.5 for my Sony and my Sony 70-300/4.5-5.6 G should be here next week.

I'm planning to use those two lenses and 500/8 to snap pics of the local waterfowl and the pesky mongooses that Okinawa is try to exterminate.

These were shot with a nikkor 300mm f/2.8 with a 1.4 TC attached, so an effective lens of 430mm

Ken ... you leave my Canadian geese alone ... they're trying to make their way back home. :D

Very nice shots once again.

When you gunna make the trip across the border and come do some shooting up here? The bears are starting to come out of hibernation and the moose are out like crazy. Hell I might even have to show you how REAL MEN fish !!!!!

I'll let you know when all the snow is gone. There's still about 4 feet of the white crap up at the cottage and the lakes are still frozen.

Oh ya ... if you do come up Ken , you should bring along a 4x4. I can actually ride from the front door of my house to the front door of the cottage in one day and it's all nice riding trails with lots of scenery.

Check out the video .... it starts off about 20 miles from my house and the guys go right through where our cottage is , which is Westree ( in the video). The Watershed is where we stop to eat when we drive up by truck along the highway. Opikiminika I've fished a lot ... many 15 lbs walleye come out of it. Have friends that have a cottage at Conglomerate Chutes ... very nice photo place too.

Lil video to get you more willing . ;)

It is ... I'm looking for some riding partners though .... all my buddies sold their quads .... orders from their wives !!!

My fiancee told me to never sell my quad , so I guess I lucked out on the best one out of them all. :D I might actually have to buy her one now . Today I showed her the Kodiac 350 ... she said NOPE .... she wants something faster than my 660. Looks like a 700 Grizzly might be in the garage for the future and I'll be eating dust . :(
