need help with my 99 warrior

need help with my 1999 yamaha warrior 350.took it to the repair shop they said it was a gas problem so i had the carb rebuilt still did not solve the problem.when i drain all the gas out of the tank and the carb then refuel it it will run good for 1minute then it starts backfiring and starts smoking and will not rev.anybody know what could be wrong.

Do all that again but, put an inline filter in and go from there.

I'm thinking you might have some junk in the tank. The filter will let you know.

its still doing the same thing even after i put a new filter on the fuel line.would the timing be off is that why its smoking.the filter is clean i looked at it and there is nothing in it.

most likely some junk in the carb or making a valve stick. Alot of shops are not as good as they say at cleaning and rebuilding carbs. Alot will not put new jets in, if they don't clean them right your carb will have the same problems all over again. Timing is not that easy to mess up on a warrior. Still it could be, Make sure the carb is actually squared away first. If it is then go after the timing. Just don't rush it, take your time to make sure everything is right.

ok i took the carb off my 2004 warrior and put it in my 99.still does the same thing.i used the gas tank and the carb.so im still thinking it could be the timing.

You are probably right now. Sounds like time for a tear down.

Might as well, put a few bucks into a cam maybe a light port and polish.

i am just gonna sell it for parts i paid 1000 like 1month ago for i am gonna at least try to get 700 out of it like it is.i dont have the money to drop into it right now.i have an 04 i dont really need 2.
