still thumb throttle

Does anyone have experience cutting the slide spring on a 05' to make the throttle a little less stiff? I've heard of people doing it...

i did my 06'. only did it cause while my quad was at the dealer for sum kind of throttle recall and when i got it back the throttle was alot stiffer. i took it back and they said it was fine so i took the spring out and cut off a couple of coils and now its better than before.
