tire and rim question

quick question is running 8 inch rims in the front with holeshots and 9 inch rims in the back with holeshots a bad idea? mostly woods riding but im gonna be doing some mx races soon.

Most all front rims are 10x5. I've never heard of an 8 inch front.

Ok I'm sure they are I didn't actually check the size of the fronts only the backs. So are nine inch rims ok for mx?

It depends on what size of tire you are going with. If you are going with an 18" MX tire on a 9 inch rim, you will be more likely to bend the rim because of less sidewall in the tire. Most MX'ers run 18" tires on 8" wheels. It's defiantely OK to use a 9" wheel, but just be sure you get a good reinforced or beadlock wheel if you plan on running 18" tires.

Thanks for your help man I'm gonna check out what size the tires are today when I get off work. They are pretty meaty way more than my other holeshot mxr4s were which were really tiny on my 400ex
