hey guys, i bought a used 2008 450r from a dealership. i had the head cover off and noticed that the decompression assembly looks like an 07 and older assembly with the decompressor arm and return spring located on the right side of the cam. so my question is..are the heads interchangeable between 08's and older models? if not, is it possible that an older year motor was put in my quad?? thanks.

yes the heads are interchangeable from 06 to 09 the difference is the decompression mechanism. Exception is the kick start models they use the older style.

I believe the 2008 kickstart models came with the adjustable decompression like all the previous models. It was the 2008 electric start that had the automatic decompression.

well my 08 is a kick start so it all makes sense that is has the old style decompression assembly. thanks alot for the help guys!!
